Flag Material Options
Compare nylon versus polyester materials to determine what material type is best for your needs.
Nylon
Our Nylon flags are crafted using aniline-dyed 100% heavyweight 200-denier nylon bunting. Nylon material is fast drying, treated to resist fading and flies in the slightest breeze. Finished with white poly-cotton header.
Polyester
Our Poly-Max Flags are crafted using 2-ply 100% polyester bunting. The open weave construction reduces wind resistance, increasing flag life. Poly-Max material is extremely durable and ideal for commercial applications and high wind areas. Finished with white poly-cotton header.

POW/MIA Flag Meaning and History
The POW/MIA was created in the 1970s in order to honor those in the military who had been taken as prisoners of war, as well as those who were still missing. The design features a silhouette of a prisoner of war alongside a guard tower and barbed wire. The flag also says “You Are Not Forgotten” underneath the photo of the POW.
National POW/MIA Recognition Day is the third Friday of September each year. It was established by President Jimmy Carter in 1979 and since then each U.S. President has commemorated the holiday. A ceremony is held each year at the Pentagon to honor those who were held captive and eventually returned, as well as those are still missing in action.
